Akilah Institute joins the 97 affiliated clubs of NAR

Never Again Rwanda launched an affiliated club at Akilah institute; “Akilah Never Again club”, which aims to empower female students to play an active role in the establishment of an inclusive and peaceful society.

Youth exercise their participation in clubs through youth led-activities and projects in their respective environment, including debates and public speaking competitions, commemoration activities, charity initiatives, participatory theatre, and traditional dance among others.

While opening the launch ceremony, Omar Ndizeye, youth coordinator at Never Again Rwanda noted that by creating this club, Never Again Rwanda expects opening spaces for youth to enhance critical thinking, prevent and manage conflicts, and to take part in decision making processes as well as fostering an inclusive and sustainable peaceful society.

“Never Again Rwanda expects clubs; to educate youth about Rwanda’s unity and reconciliation, to create safe spaces for open dialogue and to create means of preventing and resolving conflicts in your respective communities”. Omar reiterated.

The Patron of the club, Robert Haguma, urged youth to enhance their sense of responsibility and work together to successful move forward, as big changes start with small ideas.

The club’s members and representatives pledged to contribute to building a more inclusive and peaceful country by using Never Again Rwanda’s vision and mission driven by active and critical thinking youth and citizens.

Akilah Never Again club” is the 98th affiliated club of NAR, with 35 members who are sharing the common goal of working together to generate new ideas that contribute toward a peaceful and inclusive society.

Akilah is Rwanda’s top college for women and it offers diplomas in tech, business & hospitality. Graduates are prepared for jobs and leadership roles.
