Youth form the largest demographic of the world’s population. However, in an ever changing and fast world, youth need to have flexible minds that can help them to absorb new information, make sound decisions, and understand the consequences of their actions.
NAR’s vision encompasses the need to improve the critical thinking skills of youth and parental participation towards increasing educational quality and decreasing their vulnerability to manipulation to commit violent acts.
On 5th September 2019, NAR culminated of 3-day training on critical thinking for non-schooling youth. 35 young men and women from our different affiliated clubs and associations participated in this training organised in partnership with GIZ through the Civil Peace Service (ZFD).
As the training explored the core elements of critical thinking including analysis and problem solving, it created a platform for youth to discuss how to resist manipulation and use critical thinking as a tool for promoting peace in their respective communities.
It is expected that trainings like these will nurture youth to take responsibility for their actions, and empower them to foster independent engagement in peace activities.
