Never Again Rwanda invites applications for its prestigious **Legal Fellowship
Program** , a dynamic, one-year, full-time opportunity designed to nurture the next
generation of lawyers and advocates committed to advancing the rule of law ,
collaborative governance, social justice, and human rights.
About the Program
Never Again Rwanda (NAR) is a civil society national organization founded in 2002
in the aftermath of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Its mission is to empower
young people with opportunities to become active citizens and agents of peace and democracy.
Currently, NAR operates through five pillars: Peacebuilding, Governance and Human Rights, Youth Engagement, Research, and Strategic Partnerships. All interventions rotate around these pillars. The Legal Fellowship Program aligns with this vision through integrating legal expertise into social transformation initiatives.
This program seeks to connect law with lived realities from community justice and legal empowerment to policy reform and civic participation.

challenges

Minimum Qualifications
✔️ Bachelor's Degree in Law
✔️ ILPD Certification (Institute of Legal Practice & Development - Rwanda)
✔️ A Master's Degree in Law, Governance, Criminology, or Human Rights is a
competitive advantage
Your Role and Contribution
As a Legal Fellow, you will:
• Contribute to policy and legal research aligned with human rights, transitional justice, and democratic governance
• Support community-based legal education and access to justice programs
• Participate in national dialogues, workshops, and advocacy campaigns
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams addressing complex societal issues
• Draft legal memoranda, support legal literacy campaigns, and assist in program implementation
• Review the state commitments to international instruments Rwanda
Program Details
Duration: One year, full-time engagement
Compensation: Fellows will receive a monthly remuneration ( 200,000FRW and 40,000Frw for transport & Communication)
Location: Kigali, Rwanda (with occasional travel to field sites)
